Why is it so hard…

The hardest line to draw in a piece of art, is the first line. So I suppose it makes sense that the hardest words to write are the ones in the first sentence.

Is it the unknown that stops me. Gaiman recommends doing a brain dump from time to time…just blither…vomit the words all at once and see what floats to the top.

There was a movie quote once ‘The bottom’s full of nice people, only cream and bastards rise.” So perhaps the bottom’s full of story ideas….

So some story seeds to follow up on later….what does the afterlife look like from a ghost’s perspective…the idea that we’re being conditioned by the media in order to survive the apocalypse…the power of denial and the ability of brains to work reality around a painful situation…paranormal investigators that are specialists in EVP (fuck Charlies Angels, I want Flora, Fauna and Merriweather)…and the idea that our concept of death is connected to the multiverse…

Is it normal that, occasionally, I want to run away and find a different life. That urge is never strong enough that I act on it but it’s there. Oh, and what might happen if I fire up my digital recorder at my dad’s house and start trying to talk to spirits….and what happens if they talk back.
