Ode to Trying Something New

A couple of years ago I was a travel consultant with the second largest travel company in the world. I was there, on and off, for almost 20 years.

Then the pandemic hit.

Travel shut down. My job shut down.

I waited for the call back. I collected unemployment. I lived far enough away from civilization that in order to drive into town for work I needed a certain salary and I wasn’t going to get it flipping burgers.

I tried to think of this as a reason to do something law enforcement-ish. I survived 39 days as a 911 Dispatcher…I don’t want to talk about it. I’m trying to take the high ground out of a bad training situation.

Now I’ve started a gig as a Production Operator in an automotive manufacturing plant. I found out today that, if I wanted to learn to weld, that it was possible!

Food for thought…and dreams of metal in my yard or house….
