Introduction: The Trials

If you must travel in my part of the world, don’t travel during a full moon. Take those three days of the month and stay the hell away from the highways, and the country roads and the bypasses.
If you must travel in my part of the world, make sure your car is in working order and there’s little to no chance that you’d break down, God forbid, after dark.
If you must travel in my part of the world and you do break down, and a motorcycle pulls in behind your car, to help you, you think – unless it’s wearing the badge and a gun of a police officer – don’t get out of the car.
Lock the doors and pray the windows are strong. Better yet, put your head down and don’t look outside. Because if the windows aren’t strong and your rescuer belongs to a certain motorcycle club which travels these roads – you don’t want to see what’s coming next.
